![]() I guess it can be very off-putting for new players who get stuck there. Really nice to see these updates, to make the old world look fresh and more modern. For parity, having everything have a similar style would be good, even if it all looks like cheap plastic. ![]() ![]() Of course, I would be put off by them replacing old stuff, but so far, these updated older designs recently have actually been 1:1 faithful while also having the plastic toy look that the game has devolved to. I would be totally fine if this was secretly a plan by the devs to update old armor models. Oh my GOD! As someone that has a dwarf that uses the old vanilla set, this is HUGE news! Comment by Chaxton on T12:09:47-05:00 While near identical to the Ironforge Tabard from Wrath of the Lich King, the aging appearance has been in dire need of an HD update! It's also worth noting that the Dwarf guards don't actually wear their tabard either, so at least that item seems likely to be obtainable by players at some point. The axe, shield, and tabard all have associated tooltip icons, which is unusual for NPC equipment, suggesting that there could be player versions available at some point. There's also a recolored version, which may be a hint that this set could make its way to the Trading Post?Īlthough this looks to be a simple update to the existing Ironforge Guard NPCs roaming around Dun Morogh, or perhaps a hint that we'll see a group of guards engaged elsewhere in the Dragon Isles, that may not be the whole story. We've datamined an updated set of Ironforge Guard armor, complete with tabard, axe, and shield on the Dragonflight Patch 10.1 PTR!
